Switching to Tata Docomo GSM is Simple

Tata Docomo's network upgrade has made us one of India’s largest 3G/2G mobile operator with 1,84,000 sites, covering every nook and corner of the country. With this upgrade, we will be gradually phasing out our CDMA network so you will need to switch to our GSM network to enjoy our expanded network coverage or port to another service. To switch to Tata Docomo GSM, all you need to do is get yourself a GSM handset and walk into our nearest store to complete the migration in simple steps:

Generate Unique porting code

SMS PORT < Space > 10 Digit Mobile Number to 1900.
This code can be generated while roaming as well.

Steps to a smooth migration

  1. Your existing number must be 90 days old.
  2. During processing of your migration order at Tata Docomo, UPC shall remain valid.
  3. If you are a postpaid customer then please ensure that :
    1. a. Your outstanding (billed + unbilled) is cleared.
    2. b. A copy of last bill is provided along with documents.
  4. Any request of ownership change should not be placed during the migration request processing period.
  5. You should not have any previous term based contract with us.
  6. If you are a corporate customer having an UPC which starts with "C", then please provide an authorization letter from your company.
  7. Your number should not be under any litigation.
  8. In case you are changing city, please ensure to place the order with new city pin code and address.
  9. You can expect activation of the number within is 5-8 days from the time document is collected - subject to your previous operator acceptance of the request.
