Q. How can I subscribe to Family Locator?
A. You can now subsribe to this service by following the below:
- SMS FAMILY<Your Name> to 533332
- You can subscribe it through our Customer Care service(Toll free). Just Dial 155223(IVR)
- You can even subscribe it through Customer Care SMS channel. All you have to do is SMS 'START FAMILY' to 155223
Q. Can I locate a family member who is valid Tata DOCOMO subscriber but currently roaming in other operator's network?
A.
Currently that is not possible. Work in progress.
Q. Can I locate a family member whose phone is switched off?
A.
No. If the phone is recently switched off then only you will get the location. Otherwise it will show you appropriate message.
Q. How Family Locator protects my Location Privacy when I don't wish to be locatable to others?
A. You can make yourself not locatable by using keywords
HIDE & HIDE <
Cell Number/Name>. HIDE applies to all in your friend List while
HIDE <
Cell Number/Name> applies to specific friend.
Q. How can I make myself locatable to others to whom I have denied to access my location with using HIDE service?
A. You can make yourself locatable by using keywords

Q. How does the “Add Family Member Service Work Flow” works?
A. Once Add service is initiated, SMS is sent to requested number (Receiver) telling him / her that requestor wants to add him as family member. To accept, the receiver needs to reply with Y <Code> sent in SMS. By doing this, user accepts requestor as its family and allows it to locate himself / herself.
Q. What if my family member doesn't accept my friend request?
A. The ADD Friend Request is valid for 3 days. Reminder is sent to family member 1 day prior to validity expires. Still if family member
doesn’t reply then it is considered as your family member is not willing to add you as family.
Q. If I registered through any one channel say SMS, then do I need to pay extra charges for using other channels like WAP or WEB?
A.
No.

A. Rs.30/month. There is no data access charges and SMS charges applicable after subscription charges for using the product features.

A. It facilitates sending your location updates to your family members periodically on SMS for certain period (every 30 minutes for next 3 hours)

Direction service facilitates you to get directions to your family member from your current location.
Q. How can I un-subscribe from Family Locator? Will my family list would be lost in case un-subscribe?
A. To un-subscribe to this service, just follow the below:
- SMS STOP FAMILY to 533332
- By dialing customer care IVR (155223)
- Send 'STOP FAMILY' to 155223
And, Yes the friend list will be lost in case you un-subscribe from the service.
